Development of Waller BMX’s Shopify Store with Custom Features and Optimized Performance

Waller BMX is a U.S.-based e-commerce store specializing in sporting goods and bicycle products. Built on Shopify’s DAWN theme, the store has been serving customers for over six years. The project focused on enhancing user experience, integrating custom functionalities, and optimizing site performance to improve conversions and engagement. Our Solutions

  • Custom Functionalities I developed a custom mega menu to enhance navigation and implemented a custom announcement bar for promotions, improving user experience. The entire site was built from scratch, with a strong focus on optimized performance. To improve customer support, I designed and developed a dedicated FAQ page. For email marketing, I integrated Klaviyo popups, while also adding advanced filtering on collection pages to make product discovery easier.
  • Mobile Optimization Applied lazy loading and image compression to improve load times on mobile devices.
  • Enhanced Product Pages I implemented dynamic swatches and dropdowns to provide an intuitive product selection experience. Additionally, I developed a feature that displays product variants as separate products on collection pages, enhancing visibility and choice. To further improve user experience, I configured a recommended product functionality that dynamically updates the product image based on the color selection, ensuring a seamless and interactive shopping journey.
  • Advanced Search and Filtering I integrated Shopify’s Search and Discovery app to enhance the search functionality on the site. Additionally, I implemented real-time predictive search, which improves product discovery by providing users with instant, relevant suggestions as they type, making it easier and faster for them to find what they're looking for.
  • Performance Optimization I optimized Liquid JS and JavaScript to ensure efficient code execution, resulting in improved site performance. Additionally, I leveraged CDNs to enhance site speed and load times, ensuring a faster, more responsive user experience across all devices and locations.
